The Buffalo Bills faced their share of adversity through injuries in 2025. On more than one occasion, and on more occasions than we would’ve liked, the team had to trot out a beaten-up roster to compete on Sunday. From defensive tackle Ed Oliver to defensive end Michael Hoecht, the injuries were stacking up at One Bills Drive, including some big names.

Another player who was ascending for the team that went down with injury was none other than rookie cornerback Dorian Strong. Strong was a sixth-round selection and was really making waves on the team, earning a start in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Disaster struck in Week 4, with Strong being ruled out with a neck injury, and then it was near radio silence the rest of the season regarding his injury. After an update from general manager Brandon Beane saying that it was a serious injury and he may never play football again, we started to get more updates on Strong and his injury.

Now, the man himself has spoken out. Immediately after getting successful neck surgery, Strong took to Instagram with an important update on where he’s at. We still don’t have a timeline for his return, and his playing career may be over, but at least he’s in good spirits, and the surgery went well.

Dorian Strong provides a key update on his neck injury

The simple caption read “road to recovery” with two images of Strong in a hospital bed, giving a peace and love sign to the audience. Again, he’s in good spirits, and after suffering such an injury, that’s a huge win. Whenever I hear of neck injuries, I always go back to that devastating injury to Kevin Everett during the drought years. Another player whose career ended way too short.

Not saying that Strong’s career is over, but just a haunting reminder of how brutal this game can be.

Football can be taken away in an instant; we’ve seen it before in Buffalo, and it never gets easier. But what matters most right now is that Strong is healthy, smiling, and on the road to recovery.

Whether he ever suits up again or not, he’s already shown the kind of toughness and resilience this city respects. If there’s one thing we know about Buffalo, it’s that the Bills Mafia will rally around their own.

For now, the only timeline that matters is Strong getting back to full strength. Everything else can wait.
