DeAndre Hopkins will get to choose where he plays football and there's a very real chance that it's going to be with the Buffalo Bills.
Recently, it was reported that the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills were the only two teams to have discussions with Hopkins while he was still a member of the Arizona Cardinals. After he was released, the Hopkins to Buffalo rumors reached an all-time high.
If we are looking similar to what OBJ got when thinking about a new deal for Hopkins, Buffalo doesn't currently have the cap space to bring him in. That's not to say Beane can't manipulate the roster with some extensions to free up some cap space.
However, despite all that, Buffalo got their biggest boost when discussing Hopkins's potential landing spot. Vegas has the Buffalo Bills as the odds-on favorite to land the All-Pro receiver. While the team has admittedly been in this spot multiple times, it just goes to show how much Buffalo has changed over the years.
Bills Mafia remembers all too well the drought the team had previously gone through. When you have over a decade of subpar play, it's difficult to bring big names to the team. Now, with Josh Allen leading the way and McDermott and Beane establishing a winning culture, more players like Hopkins will consider coming to the Bills.
A few of the bigger names that had been tied to Buffalo in the past but not landed with the team were J.J. Watt, Zach Ertz, and even Saquan Barkley recently. Specifically, in Barkley's case, Buffalo was once again the odds-on favorite to land the talented running back. While these are simply odds, sometimes when there's smoke there's fire.
Hopkins admitted to wanting to play with Allen, has routinely teased the fanbase with multiple social media posts, and now the decision will come down to him. Would he be willing to take a discount to chase a ring? Is it all about money? Only time will tell.
While nothing is certain, we have a feeling Brandon Beane has been a busy man these past few days. If Hopkins were able to land with Buffalo, it would immediately ascend them to Super Bowl favorites.
All eyes will be on Hopkins over these next few days and weeks. One thing is for certain across the Bills Mafia, anywhere but Kansas City.
