The Buffalo Bills should not be thinking of anybody else other than the Kansas City Chiefs ahead of their divisional round playoff matchup on Sunday night.

However, as far as the fanbase itself is concerned, Bills Mafia just received a major reason to be hopeful about a Super Bowl appearance.

Moments after the Ravens' win over the Texans, sportsbooks released early odds for hypothetical AFC Championship Games, which will be fully defined after Chiefs-Bills is over.

According to FanDuel, the Bills would be three-point road underdogs if they advance to the AFC Championship Game. Even though the sportsbooks wouldn't consider him favorites, it should be a major reason to be hopeful. I'll explain why.

In the world of NFL betting, your standard home-field advantage is usually set between two and three points. That means if two teams of the exact same caliber were to face each other, the home team would be favored by two or three points.

In other words, the fact that the oh-so-scary Ravens are expected to be favored by only three points against the Bills goes to show you that oddsmakers believe both teams to be in the same tier.

When dealing with the first seed in the AFC, the league's likely MVP, and a team that has shut down C.J. Stroud's Texans, Brock Purdy's 49ers, Tua Tagovailoa's Dolphins, and Jared Goff's Lions, many will act like the Bills are longshots if they indeed make it to the AFC Championship Game. Honestly, I wouldn't guessed a spread of at least 4.5 points.

But the experts aren't buying into it. It would be a close affair for a ticket to Super Bowl LVII.

However, as I said in the opening sentence of this post, right now it should be all about the Chiefs. Beating Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid won't be easy regardless of their 2023 struggles. We all know the Bills have had their share of them.

But considering you and I won't be suiting up for the game, there's no harm in looking ahead just a little bit as we daydream about a potential Super Bowl run for Josh Allen and friends.
