The Buffalo Bills are currently being hit hard by the injury bug. With Matt Milano and DaQuan Jones potentially missing the whole season, despite some optimism from Sean McDermott, the team needs to find a way to get healthy.

In back-to-back weeks the team has lost some premiere defenders after Tre'Davious White suffered an Achilles injury and has been lost for the season. The following week, Milano suffered a brutal leg injury and Jones suffered a pec injury of his own.

The defense is being depleted, forcing McDermott to make some tough decisions moving forward. Former first-rounder Kaiir Elam got a chance to shine in the contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars but was pulled due to poor play.

However, the team's latest injury update gives us reason to be excited as one of the team's rising stars is back practicing once again, giving the defense a huge boost ahead of their upcoming contest against the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

The talented cornerback Christian Benford, who was taken late in the same draft as Elam, looks like he's poised to make a return this week. While his current injury designation is up in the air, this is a positive step in the right direction for a team that desperately needs some good news.

Unfortunately, the offense is taking somewhat of a hit in Dalton Kincaid. Kincaid hasn't seen the production the fanbase was hoping for after exploding in camp. He had sky-high expectations coming into this season but it appears Allen just may not feeding him at the high clip we had hoped for.

To add further insult to injury, CB Dane Jackson did not practice with a foot injury. At a time when the team needs to be all hands on deck to try and get back to their winning ways, Jackson's injury will be closely monitored heading into their next matchup.

If he's not able to go, there's going to be a lot of pressure on Elam to compete. Don't be surprised if the team makes a move to activate Ja'Marcus Ingram ahead of the matchup, a player that McDermott thinks highly of who currently sits on the team's practice squad.

Kincaid finds himself in the concussion protocol, meaning his status for Sunday is up in the air as well. Conservatively, the team may not be able to roll him out as the league has ramped up its protection of players suffering from head injuries.

Nevertheless, if Benford is able to go, it will help this team tremendously as Sean McDermott has done an excellent job calling plays on the defensive side of the football.

All that's left to do is wait.
