Bobby Babich has been part of the Buffalo Bills' staff since 2017 when he was hired as an assistant defensive backs coach.

From there, he worked his way up to safeties coach from 2018-21, and then switched to linebackers coach from 2022-23. He was promoted to defensive coordinator following the 2023 season.

Now, Babich will be calling the defense, and he was asked about his new duties as Buffalo's defensive playcaller, to which he gave a very refreshing answer.

"Whether it's play-calling or something new, just in general in this job… you're never ready until you do it," Babich said. "I've prepared myself for, I think I've been in this league 12 or 13 years- you're constantly trying to prepare yourself for when you get into this position. But until you actually do something, you're never ready. So, I don't have the ego to sit up here and say 'I'm ready, this, that, and the other.' I'm vulnerable enough to say that I'm prepared as I can possibly be and I'm going to continue to learn every day."

In a world full of a ton of non-answers, having a fresh, honest answer on being vulnerable, open, and truthful is certainly refreshing from the new Bills defensive coordinator.
