Ed Oliver is known to make some big plays, but none have come at a more perfect time than in Saturday night's win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The defensive tackle got past the Chargers offensive line, smothering quarterback Easton Stick before he could get the throw off.
And Bills quarterback Josh Allen had the perfect way to describe the final play.
"That essentially ended the game," he said during his postgame interview on the Peacock broadcast.
And the big play got even sweeter after it was reported that Oliver hit his $500,000 sack incentive bonus in his contract with that play.
What a nice Christmas present! And the win isn't too bad either.
The game ended with a failed lateral attempt, providing the Bills with the win .
And with that, they jumped from the eight spot to the sixth spot in the AFC playoff picture.
Because of the Cincinnati Bengals loss, the Bills earned complete control of their playoff future. So if they win their last few games, they get to play some more football this season. And step one of three is now complete.
While it might not have been the cleanest win for Buffalo, a win is a win.
And Oliver earns a lot of the credit for that one, putting a stop to the Chargers final drive.
Oliver is in his fifth season with the Bills, currently having recorded 6.5 sacks this season. But this one will be one to remember.
