The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for their upcoming contest against the New York Jets to open their season on Monday Night Football.

The star-studded affair pits two AFC East powerhouses against one another. While the primary matchup will be Josh Allen vs. Aaron Rodgers, Gabe Davis is making his presence felt even before the game even begins.

Davis, while dealing with a nagging ankle injury last season, is hoping to take another important step with his game this year. The folks at One Bills Drive are expecting big things from their WR, and he isn't taking the situation lightly.

Just last year, Davis finished with a solid campaign that saw him amass 48 receptions for 836 yards and seven touchdowns, furthering his expectations coming into this season. Buffalo sees a bright future in Davis which is in part why they promoted him to captain this season.

Speaking on their decision, Davis didn't hold back. "It's special. It makes me proud to say that I'm one of the captains of the Buffalo Bills and the situation that I'm in, seeing all of the guys that are all in the room with me, a lot of respected players, and how I can be in the same room.

Davis continued, showcasing what he's going to bring to the table and how his opinion is valued. "…My opinion matters and the way I think. They trust me with that, so it's definitely a great feeling."

The talented receiver then went on to share a message from the locker room and perhaps the most important message of the season, "Be present in the moment." Davis continued, I feel like a lot of people get caught up in looking ahead or thinking about what they could have done from the past. So being where your feet are at is the biggest thing."

Davis seems poised to take the league by storm, his introspection on the season and his captainship show another layer of his abilities off the field that should worry opposing defenses. Davis isn't shying away from the challenge. Rather, he's embracing the journey and looking forward to accomplishing big things in Buffalo.
