The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the New York Jets as the Jets returned a punt in overtime for a touchdown.
The defense did all they could with the Rodgers-less Jets, but the offense couldn't get going and Allen's inability to control the football proved costly. It's only week one, we aren't hitting the panic button for our franchise quarterback yet.
However, injuries found a way to rear their ugly head in the contest for the Buffalo Bills as it was reported Micah Hyde would be questionable to return after leaving the game right before overtime.
The talented safety had missed nearly the entire last season with a neck injury suffered in the season opener. The fact that Hyde could walk off on his own accord was a welcomed sign but didn't ease the minds of the Bills Mafia.
Hyde is a crucial part of this defense and his missing any time will be devastating for the unit as a whole. In fact, this was the first game in years that Jordan Poyer, Tre White, and Hyde were on the field together. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.
To add further insult to injury, the Bills C Mitch Morse needed to get an X-Ray after the game. It cannot be overstated just how important Morse is to this offense. He's Allen's center and will be a devastating blow if he is forced to miss any substantial time.
Now, all that's left to do is wait to hear if the injury is serious or if Hyde and Morse can be back in action sooner rather than later.
Josh Allen has 83 turnovers since 2018 which leads the league
The Buffalo Bills lost a heartbreaker to the division rival Jets. To add further insult to injury, Josh Allen landed on the wrong side of NFL history.
