The Buffalo Bills are in an interesting position this off-season.
Unfortunately, with sky-high expectations that came to a screeching halt, the team is going to be making some big adjustments.
The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia, who covers the Bills as a beat reporter, highlighted a former fan favorite who could potentially be next on the chopping block in a recent article.
Who could be on the chopping block?
Coming into the season, Bills Mafia took a liking to newly acquired offensive line coach Aaron Kromer. Kromer previously spent time with the Bears, Buccs, and Rams.
Buscaglia was blunt about the current Bills staffer:
"In his first season, the offensive line coach oversaw a largely disappointing season from the front five. The run blocking never became a consistent factor as they tried to find their form in 2022, and the pass blocking was inconsistent at best."
At least one insider thinks Kromer is not off the hook and his insight is some of the best when it comes to the Bills. But also, it’s important to keep in mind that Buscaglia is merely expressing his opinion – this is not a report.
"The Bills could wind up making significant changes with their starting personnel, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Kromer is one of those changes as well," Buscaglia concluded in the article.
Devil's advocate, Kromer was only able to work with what he had. However, with just how bad the Bills offensive line was, it's hard not to point fingers.
The Bills recently fired their safeties coach to kick off the offseason and it appears based on Brandon Beane's recent press conference that no job is safe. Immediately after the loss to Cincinnati, Bills Mafia began calling for two of the higher coaches on the roster, Ken Dorsey and Leslie Frazier.
Biggest need
When looking at the team, outside of another weapon for Josh Allen and potentially some replacements on the defensive side of the football, the offensive line is the biggest need.
During no point in the season would you say that the Bills' offensive line was strong, by any means.
The offseason has just begun, but if Buffalo wants to continue to be competitive in an ultra-competitive NFL, sweeping changes to the roster and coaching staff may need to happen.
While a fan favorite may be out the door, Bills Mafia would arguably trade any player or coach on this roster for a chance to win a Super Bowl.
