While the Buffalo Bills gear up for a showdown against the Rams in the season-opener on Thursday, they've been gifted with a little extra motivation.

Jalen Ramsey quickly went viral with his statement towards the Bills on Tuesday afternoon.

Ramsey has a history of calling out the Bills. Specifically, he has gone viral in the past for calling Josh Allen "trash" during Allen's rookie season.

What does Ramsey mean?

Ramsey told the media he didn't want to "boost them up" when discussing the Bills and Josh Allen.

It could be that Ramsey didn't want to buy into the hype surrounding this Bills unit.

Josh Allen is the odds-on MVP favorite while the Bills team are the early season favorites to win the Super Bowl.

There has never been a time where there have been this many expectations surrounding a Buffalo Bills team leading up to the season.

Let's take a look at the history between Jalen Ramsey and Josh Allen.

Allen responds with his play

It's important to note that Josh Allen and the bills were victorious after the initial claims were made that Allen was "trash."

Bills Mafia always keeps receipts.

Allen wound up connecting for a touchdown with Robert Foster while the pocket closed in on him. A defining moment in the young quarterback's career.

Ramsey's response

Ramsey would later backtrack on these comments, changing his tune on the franchise quarterback and his abilities.

While it was a lame-duck response, Ramsey would respond with only two words: "he's talented."

For those keeping score at home, it's one-to-nothing in favor of the Bills and Josh Allen.

Rivalry revisited

Fast forward to a few years later during the COVID season when Josh Allen was given another opportunity to show Ramsey what type of quarterback he really is.

Allen and the Bills took on the Rams in September of 2020 where Allen finished the game going 23 of 33, 72.7% completion percentage, 311 yards, 4 touchdowns and an interception.

The cherry on top was his game-winning pass when he found Tyler Kroft in the back of the endzone. Not bad for a "trash" quarterback.

Updated score: Bills two, Ramsey zero.

Looking to the future

Jalen Ramsey is an incredibly talented cornerback who likes to hype up his own game.

The Bills have shown time and time again that they are up for the challenge while their backs are against the wall.

Putting a chip on this team's shoulder is a bad idea for any opposing team in the league.

What's at stake

Allen and the Bills have a chance to walk into SoFi stadium with a statement win to start off the year and further drown out the idea that Josh Allen, or the team in general, are "trash."

With this being Josh Allen's first game back in his home state of California, get your popcorn ready.

This one's going to be fun.
