The Buffalo Bills are shaking things up, but keeping things the same, and I think that’s what’s divided the fan base the most on the decision to promote former offensive coordinator Joe Brady to the head coach. Social media was flooded with displeasure ever since the announcement was made. Brady has a tough task ahead of him to win over the court of public opinion, but plenty of time to do it.

Brady isn’t just fighting the general public, as he’s got his work cut out for him as the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills. With offensive line coach Aaron Kromer announcing his retirement, and the team losing both defensive coordinator Bobby Babich and wide receivers coach Adam Henry, there are a lot of positions to fill in the coaching staff before the new year can even begin.

Joe Brady has yet another position to fill after losing out to a division rival

Well, it appears another domino has fallen, and it’s more work for the front office and Brady during his first week as head coach. It’s been reported that the cornerbacks coach, Jahmille Addae, is set to be hired by the divisional rival Miami Dolphins, where he will serve in the same role.

Addae has been with the Buffalo Bills since 2024, serving as the cornerbacks coach for two seasons. Addae had spent most of his coaching career in college, spending time with Miami, Georgia, West Virginia, Minnesota, Arizona, and Cincinnati.

He spent a few years as a graduate assistant and helped with the running backs before becoming a defensive analyst in Arizona and ultimately wound up being the team’s defensive backs coach.

Addae jumped around the country, helping with the team’s secondaries before entering the NFL with the Bills in 2024. We previously wrote about potential hires from within, with Addae being one of the names we floated for an increased role under the new regime. While he was a long shot, his work with the cornerbacks room cannot be overstated. He’s an elite coach; the Dolphins got a good one.

Losing Addae to a division rival stings, but it also underscores the reality of where Buffalo is right now.

Brady didn’t inherit a finished product; he inherited a reset. How he responds to these early departures, who he brings in to replace them, and whether he can maintain continuity in key rooms will go a long way in determining how quickly the fan base comes around.

The honeymoon may be over before it ever began, but Brady’s real evolution is just getting started.
