Two of the NFL’s top quarterbacks square off in Week 6 as Josh Allen’s Buffalo Bills travel to Kansas City to do battle with Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.
Allen and Mahomes have changed the way the quarterback position is played. These two generational talents have been at the root of many sleepless nights for defensive coordinators around the league.
They are at the epicenter of one of the most exciting quarterback rivalries the NFL has ever seen. There was Steve Young and Troy Aikman, then Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, now it’s Mahomes and Allen.
“I’m not going to lie, it kind of dawned upon me today,” said Allen in an appearance on Kyle Brandt’s Basement. “I remember as a kid watching Peyton (Manning) and Tom (Brady), and then Tom and Aaron (Rodgers). And to know that people regard me in that type of situation – it’s surreal.”
As for Allen’s thoughts on Mahomes, he considers himself to be one of his biggest fans.
“As a football fan myself, you know, when I’m watching games, I love watching him play. He’s a fantastic player; he can do everything you want.”
Allen holds a 1-3 record in his career against the Chiefs, including two losses in the postseason. After a heart-breaking 42-36 overtime loss in last year’s AFC Divisional Round, the Bills will have revenge on their mind when the team rolls into Kansas City this weekend.
