The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are just days away from their highly-anticipated contest which pairs two of the league's best offenses against one another. That, and Buffalo has a top-three defense to boot.
With the preparations being made that have all the makings for a legendary showdown, Josh Allen got a huge boost from the unlikeliest of places: Miami Dolphins defensive line.
Specifically, Christian Wilkins. Wilkins, a defensive tackle for the Dolphins opened up about Josh Allen and what he brings to the table. While there may be bad blood between the two teams, Wilkins gushed over Allen's abilities on the football field.
When asked about the battles the two have faced over the years, Wilkins had a smile on his face, "That's my guy – I love Josh (Allen)." He continued, talking about any potential bad blood between the two, "We're cool, we're tight. But no, he's a heck of a competitor. I love playing against him."
We'll admit, it's not exactly what we had on our bingo cards for a heated division rivalry. What's more, Wilkins went on to talk about what type of player Allen is. "He definitely brings the best out of you as a defense, as an individual. His resume speaks for itself."
Continuing on, Wilkins is looking to the future and is excited about the matchup. "But definitely a heck of a player and we're going to have to be on it this week as a defense and as a team because they're a really good team and they play tough and we know them, they know us."
Just last season, Allen and Wilkins got into it and even though Wilkins has about 70 pounds on the Bills QB, he didn't hold back. Lots of pushing and shoving but Allen held his ground for one of the more viral moments of the season between the two teams.
Leaving nothing to the imagination, Wilkins concluded with, "There are no secrets. Just have to go out there and ball, compete, and may the best man win."
