Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier may be taking a break from coaching football in 2023, but he'll still be right in the middle of things as an NFL Network analyst.
The NFL announced Tuesday that it hired six new analysts to help out during the season and Frazier, who started his hiatus back in February, is one of the new faces in town:
"In the fall, I will really begin to take a look at what’s happening around the league, make sure I stay up on any new trends, anything that’s changing," Frazier said back in May.
The 64-year-old is certainly following through with his word, but it doesn't appear that his coaching days are over, just yet. Frazier attended the NFL's Coach Accelerator program earlier in the year, so it's clear he still wants to be on the sidelines.
But, instead of as a defensive coordinator, his desire could very well lay in holding the title of head coach, once again. And maybe, his decision to join NFL Network is the "bridge" he needs to get to that point.
“Hopefully, an owner will give me a chance to talk to him about an opportunity,” said Frazier. “If that doesn’t happen [then] I’m good. I’ve had a good career. I’m good. My goal is to be a head coach. I know I don’t have much time left. I’m at an age where it seems like owners are going younger and younger, but I think I have some things I can bring to the table. We’ll see what happens.”
Leonard Floyd can help Bills fill Von Miller void
The veteran pass rusher closed out 2022 in strong fashion and the Bills are hoping it carries over into 2023.
