The Buffalo Bills received a brutal blow ahead of training camp as running back Nyheim Hines is "expected" to miss the entire 2023 NFL season per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

According to Pelissero, Hines "suffered a significant knee injury off-site" prior to training camp.

The news also brings light to why the Bills recently worked out running back Darrynton Evans, who is a former third-round draft pick with just 125 career yards.

Hines, who arrived at Buffalo at the trade deadline last season, didn't take long to introduce himself to the Bills Mafia. In fact, whatever I can tell you about his numbers will pale in comparison to the iconic moment he authored one game after Damar Hamlin's collapse on Monday Night Football.

Hines returned the opening kickoff for 96 yards all the way into the endzone to go up 6-0 against the New England Patriots as Highmark Stadium roared at the highest it had all season. Shortly thereafter, Hines doubled down with another touchdown return – this time for 101 yards – on his way to becoming the 11th player in league history to have two touchdown returns in the same game.

The good news for the Bills is that they've got a solid rotation at running back even after losing Hines. James Cook is projected to start with Damien Harris and Latavius Murray providing depth.

However, one vacancy just opened up and many players will look to lock their position in as the starting kickoff/punt returner of the team.

It was the first game action the Bills had following an unfinished Monday Night Football Game versus the Cincinnati Bengals. Bills fans at Highmark Stadium were […]
