The Buffalo Bills moved on from a fan favorite on Friday.

Buffalo announced the release of wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, a former Georgia standout who spent the last five seasons with the Bills.

With the Bills moving on from McKenie, Pro Football Network suggested on Friday that Buffalo would be a good landing spot for former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen.

Thielen was released by the Vikings earlier this month.

From Pro Football Network: Following another disappointing exit in the playoffs, the Buffalo Bills must prioritize giving Josh Allen more weapons. Although Gabe Davis has shown some flashes in his three years, he’s ultimately proven to become too inconsistent to be a reliable No. 2 option to Stefon Diggs. If anyone has shown their ability to be one of the best No. 2s in the NFL, it’s Thielen. Not only has he been doing it with the No. 1 receiver in the league, Justin Jefferson, but he and Diggs had the exact same role together in Minnesota. While I’m bullish about the outlook for Khalil Shakir, no player available on the market is more proven than Thielen, plus there’s another opening on the depth chart following the release of Isaiah McKenzie. The Bills are in a win-now window, and adding Thielen in free agency would help maximize their chances of not only competing in the AFC but helping them close the gap to teams like Cincinnati and Kansas City.

It's hard to argue with their logic. Thielen's best days are behind him — he will turn 33 before the start of the 2023 season — but he's still a quality No. 2 wide receiver that's coming off a decent season (70 receptions for 716 yards and six touchdowns while playing all 17 games). Playing with Josh Allen would probably give Thielen's numbers a boost.

Thielen and Diggs were close in Minnesota. And the two clearly know how to share a field together. This would be a low-risk move that could end up paying major dividends for the Bills.
