The Buffalo Bills are currently looking for a new punter after the team released Matt Haack and waived Matt Araiza.

One option that many considered was former Tennessee Titans punter Brett Kern, who was recently released after spending 13 seasons in Nashville. Kern is from Grand Island New York, which is about a 15-minute drive from Buffalo. So, it made a lot of sense for him to return to his roots during the latter stage of his career.

But according to his father, Cal Kern, the three-time Pro Bowler has established new roots in Tennessee and said roots are what will prevent him from signing with the Bills, after all.

Additionally, the elder Kern recently told New York's WLVL that the Titans have told his son to "stay ready" in case their rookie, Ryan Stonehouse, doesn't pan out as expected. Both factors are satisfactory enough to where Kern is OK with waiting around.

Granted, Kern's father is not his agent nor Kern himself. However, it does track, at the end of the day. So, it's safe bet to say the Bills shouldn't hold their breath with Kern.

They need to go ahead and look elsewhere when it comes to filling the hole on their roster that is the punter position.
