The Buffalo Bills added more wide receiver help Monday when they announced they had signed wide receiver Trent Sherfield to a one-year contract.

The news comes days after Buffalo released speedy wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, a favorite among Bills Mafia. Sherfield is the second wide receiver Buffalo has added this offseason. The team also signed ex-New Orleans Saints undersized speedster Deonte Harty.

Sherfield, 27, spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, setting careers highs with 30 catches for 417 yards with two touchdown receptions. The 6-foot-1, 219-pound pass-catcher entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt with the Arizona Cardinals in 2018. He spent 2021 season with the San Francisco 49ers.

Sherfield joins Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Deonte Harty, Khalil Shakir, Isaiah Coulter, KeeSean Johnson and Dezmon Patton on Buffalo’s wide receiver depth chart.

Sherfield played at Vanderbilt with Bills offensive assistant Kyle Shurmur, who was the Commodores’ starting quarterback during the wideout’s most productive college seasons.
