The Buffalo Bills have one of the best rosters in the NFL. With that being said, there is plenty of room for improvement.
No, this isn’t an Odell Beckham Jr. to Buffalo piece, although we’d be fine with that too.
A potential reunion could help revitalize a position the Bills Mafia has been pounding the table for: wide receiver.
Former Buffalo Bill, Los Angeles Ram, and now former Tennessee Titan Robert Woods has been released from his team.
Immediately following the update from the team, Woods posted a slew of tweets that quickly caught the eye of the Bills Mafia.
Woods was drafted by the Bills and saw success, the veteran wide receiver finished his tenure with the Bills going for 203 receptions for 2451 and 12 touchdowns.
Unfortunately, injuries and admittedly sub-par quarterback play last season saw a downtick in production. Woods, coming off an ACL injury, just wasn't able to put together a string of good games, ultimately leading to him becoming a cap-casualty for Tennessee.
Nevertheless, adding a veteran wide receiver that the likes of Isaiah McKenzie and Khalil Shakir could learn from would be paramount for their growth.
Take a look at what the Bills did with Von Miller and the young defensive line. Pairing a proven talent with young players is exactly the type of environment McDermott and Beane love to deploy.
Another area that Woods could shine in for Buffalo would be his ability to get yards after the catch. A staggering 42% of Woods' total yards came after the catch. Additionally, he can be utilized as more of a swiss army knife-type player. Robert Woods executed on an unbelievable 6.9 yards per carry, an inarguable playmaker.
An aging vet returning home would be an instant win for the front office and fan base. His previous injuries paired with the opportunity to play with Josh Allen could be all Woods needs for a Buffalo reunion. A cheap one-year deal, sign us up.
At the end of the day, another weapon for Josh Allen is a net positive.
