The Buffalo Bills found a way to sneak out an ugly win over the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football. It came down to beyond the last second as a pass interference call was made with no time on the clock, meaning the Bills needed to make one more stop at 0:00 on the game clock.
Bills CB Taron Johnson may have gotten away with a defensive pass interference on the play, giving Buffalo the victory and allowing them to walk out of Highmark Stadium at 4-2.
However, perhaps the biggest story coming out of this game was the health of RB Damien Harris and Josh Allen. Harris ran through the hole and injured his neck during the contest. What unfolded was nothing short of terrifying.
The veteran RB needed to be put on a stretcher and sent away in an ambulance for further evaluation. Damar Hamlin was emotional on the sideline as both teams gathered around Harris on the field while the medical trainers began working on him.
Following the contest, Sean McDermott gave an update for the Bills Mafia. While his return to football is uncertain, and there's no real timeline for his recovery as it's just too soon, it was a positive update for a fanbase that's been watching this team drop like flies. The head coach also gave a crucial update on Josh Allen after the superstar QB needed to get x-rays after the game.
McDermott wasted no time, "I know you guys are probably going to want injury updates. I'll tell you what I know on Josh. Josh had scans, all are normal so far, on his shoulder. And then Damien, same thing. Things are heading in a good direction for Damien." Mcdermott continued, "It's my understanding it's full movement right now."
Opening up on the injury, the Bills head coach gave an inside look at what he was feeling when it all went down, "You're concerned and the game becomes secondary to the care and wellbeing of the player lying on the field at that point. It's not a good thing to have to go through. Fortunate that he's seemingly heading in the right direction with the reports we're getting."
With movement in both his arms and legs and trending in the right direction, this was an update the team desperately needed. In back-to-back weeks the team suffered potential season-ending injuries to some of their best players. Luckily, it seems as though Harris and Allen will both be okay.
Bills’ Josh Allen said what we are all thinking after ugly win over Giants
The Buffalo Bills narrowly escaped the Tyrod Taylor-lead New York Giants on quite literally the last play. Immediately after the game, Josh Allen opened up to the media.
