After holding the majority of the Bills' starters out in the preseason opener, head coach Sean McDermott reveals that the team will have a different approach in Saturday's exhibition against the Denver Broncos.

“The starters will play a healthy amount this week,” said McDermott in his Thursday presser. He would go on to clarify that most starters will play, but not every starter will take part in the game.

Quarterback Josh Allen will be one of the starters who will see action this week. Though McDermott wouldn’t go into detail on just how much he will play, it’s a safe assumption that Allen won’t spend more than a couple drives on the field.

It’s important that Allen and new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey continue to build chemistry with live game reps. Dorsey was Allen’s QB coach for the last three years, but was promoted in the offseason after Brian Daboll took the head coaching job for the New York Giants.

If Allen and the rest of the offense are able to shake off the rust with a strong outing, I have a hard time believing many of those players will take a snap in the Bills’ preseason finale next week.
