The Buffalo Bills' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars still stings in the hearts of the Bills Mafia. While the loss itself was bad, it's what happened during the game that's really made lives more difficult for the fanbase.
During the contest, two superstar defenders DaQuan Jones and Matt Milano suffered what appeared to be devastating injuries. Sean McDermott recently opened up about their status, informing the fanbase that both would require surgery and could miss the entire season.
Now, the team has made the official move to designate both players to the injured reserve, furthering McDermott's sentiment that they will miss substantial time, or perhaps the entire season.
In a subsequent move, and providing the team a much-needed boost, the team has activated Baylon Spector from the IR, opening up his 21-day window for him to be activated. Additionally, the team has signed A.J., Klein to the 53-man roster to add even more depth at the position.
Spector had suffered a hamstring injury in the team's preseason game against the Chicago Bears and hadn't seen the field since. His return gives the team some wiggle room as they look to try and replace Milano.
Outside of Spector, the team split up the opportunities for rookie Dorian Williams and Tyrel Dodson late in the contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both admittedly struggled at times, making McDermott's play-calling on defense even that much more difficult.
To say it's a tough task to try and replicate what the All-Pro Milano could do on the football field is a massive understatement. McDermott has his hands full but has proven time and time again that his next-man-up type approach could pay off.
