The Buffalo Bills suffered yet another tough defeat too early in the postseason this past weekend.
Simply put, they didn't get it done.
In snowy conditions, the Bills just couldn't handle anything that the Cincinnati Bengals threw their way. The offense sputtered, and Josh Allen did not look like himself. The defense got gashed on many occasions by both the run and pass games of the Bengals.
The Bills had high expectations. National media expected them to get to the Super Bowl. The coaches and players had those same aspirations, understandably.
They're extremely talented across the board, but they fell just short.
One star for Buffalo was clearly frustrated during and after the game. You can blame him whatsoever, either.
Wide receiver Stefon Diggs had an emotional response to coming up short again in the postseason.
He left the locker room very quickly after the conclusion of the game.
Everyone knows that Diggs always plays with plenty of passion.
Today, the Bengals and their gameplan on defense kept him in check. His production was certainly lower than he wanted. Diggs finished the game with four catches for 35 yards. Josh Allen targeted him ten times, though, so they tried to get him involved often. That just didn't work, and you have to give plenty of credit to the Bengals for limiting that duo.
For Diggs, it was an emphatic response to a high-energy sport. Some folks will blow it out of proportion, but he simply cares a lot about his and his team's performance.
He may feel like he let them down, and it is possible that he feels like the team let their fans down.
Regardless, Diggs is an important piece of the future for the Bills.
