The Buffalo Bills are expected to take a major step toward playing their Week 18 season finale game against the New England Patriots.
After having meetings and a walk-through on Wednesday with no media availability, the Bills are set to hold practice on Thursday per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Mike Giardi (NFL Network) also reported that Damar Hamlin's father address the Bills via a Zoom call, with one source indicating they're "doing this together."
On Wednesday, NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent left the door open on a potential delay of Bills-Patriots in a conference call, saying that they'd allow the Bills to guide them in such a decision.
Vincent added such discussions had not taken place at the time of the call. Thursday's practice suggests the team is getting ready to play Sunday.
Undoubtedly, the game scheduled against the Patriots pales in relevance compared to Damar Hamlin's situation. The Bills safety remains in the ICU in critical condition following his collapse on Monday Night Football. Signs of improvement were reported on Wednesday although no specifics were given.
Meanwhile, the NFL has yet to announce a formal final decision on Bills-Bengals but is expected to announce one in the next few days. The league has confirmed the start time of the Cincinnati Bengals' upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens for Sunday at 1 p.m. EST.
