Brandon Beane strikes again for the Buffalo Bills.
In a critical offseason, Brandon Beane has been quiet but effective. The Bills GM has orchestrated a few moves that help set the team up for long-term success. Re-signings, restructures and extensions have been huge for the organization looking for its first-ever Super Bowl.
Beane made another move that the Bills Mafia has patiently been waiting for. Fan-favorite Tyler Bass has officially signed an extension. The contract details are reportedly 4 years for $21M with $12.3M guaranteed. With the new deal, Over The Cap highlights that Bass will now be top-5 in the NFL regarding total value for a kicker.
The near record-breaking contract has Buffalo retaining one of the very best kickers in the NFL. Bass, since his arrival in Buffalo, has been a charismatic focal point on one of the most successful teams in the league.
The superstar kicker has been shattering records left and right since almost day one. Bass, a sixth-round pick from Georgia Southern, immediately won the position and the rest is history. It only took Bass one season to cement himself in the organization's history books.
Bass surpassed Bills legend Steve Christie in his first season in the NFL, breaking the Bills record for most points in a single season. Not only that but Bass, in the same season, surpassed Scott Norwood for most PATs in a single season. Just when you thought he was done, the talented kicker wound up breaking another record in the NFL playoffs that same year.
There's nothing Bass can't do, which includes drilling 54-yard field goals, the longest in playoff history by a rookie. Brandon Beane has been taking care of his players and Bass is proof of that. Bass is a quiet leader on this team and has been part of or responsible for some of the biggest moments the fandom has seen in nearly 20 years.
Bills Mafia should be celebrating, this is an awesome move.
