Broncos’ Bo Nix is turning heads with his latest comments about Bills quarterback Josh Allen ahead of divisional matchup
Quarterback Bo Nix had plenty to say about Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
The Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos are set to face off on Saturday in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs. The winner will go to the AFC Championship game, with Buffalo hoping to travel to Denver and pull off the upset. It’s the No. 6-seeded Bills taking on the No. 1-seeded Broncos.
Ahead of the matchup, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix was asked about taking on quarterback Josh Allen. Needless to say, Nix is a fan of the work Allen has done this season and throughout his career. Put simply, Allen is a generational talent, and we couldn’t agree more.
“He’s incredible,” Nix said. “He’s the MVP of the league for a reason. He continues to make play after play when sort of the game’s not necessarily looking like he can make the play. He just goes out there and does superhero stuff. I think one of the things that separates him is just his toughness, his ability to go play after play at his maximum velocities, his peak performance.”
Allen is Superman on the football field
Allen is a superhero on the field, and on more than one occasion, he’s put on his Superman cape and willed his team to victory. Sunday against the Jaguars was no different. Allen had three touchdowns and no interceptions and led his team down the field twice in the fourth-quarter on scoring drives to seal the deal in Jacksonville, all while dealing with several injuries sustained in the matchup. He didn’t blink. He didn’t falter. He just went to work and carved up the Jaguars’ defense.
Since Allen joined the league, he’s been making highlight reel plays. Whether it’s stiffarming cornerbacks for a big gain or hurdling linebackers at midfield, Allen is must-see television.
“It’s been fun to watch him play over the course of his career,” Nix said. “It feels like he got in the league, but he’s been in there for a while at this point, making play after play. He’s just kind of a generational talent. You don’t see that all the time, guys as big as the defensive linemen just being able to be as athletic as skill players. It’s not normal. He has great arm strength, too. It’s one of those things where you can do it all at a high level, and it’s always been fun to watch.”
Buffalo got the better of Denver in the 2025 wild-card matchup
Nix and company will try to rewrite some of the wrongs of last season, when Buffalo pulled out the playoff victory in the wild-card round against the Broncos. This time, the game is in Denver with much more on the line. It’ll be Nix’s second-ever playoff appearance and his second consecutive against Buffalo.
While beaten up by injuries across the board, Allen might need to once again put on his Superman cape and will his team to victory. Fortunately, Buffalo won’t be against the No. 1 rushing defense in football, so running back James Cook should take some pressure off of No. 17. But still, Denver’s defense is no slouch, and Allen is working with limited weapons after the losses of wide receivers Josh Palmer, Gabe Davis, and Tyrell Shavers.
Nix said what most of the league already believes. Allen isn’t just hard to defend; he’s built differently. On Saturday, that admiration gets set aside as Buffalo once again asks its quarterback to rise above injuries, depleted weapons, and a hostile environment. If Allen does what he’s done his entire career, even the No. 1 seed won’t matter.
