The Buffalo Bills have made their first big move of free agency, bringing on EDGE Bradley Chubb on a three-year deal. Buffalo had been relatively quiet before the decision, only opting to bring in cornerback Dee Alford as the two big moves of free agency.

The team also restructured the contract of quarterback Josh Allen to free up some space, extended tight end Dawson Knox to a three-year deal to reduce his cap hit, among some other internal moves, bringing some guys back like punter Mitch Wishnowsky. Chubb was the biggest splash so far.

Chubb may have already won over the hearts of Bills Mafia, quickly taking to Instagram once the decision had been officially announced. He only needed one word to fire up the fanbase.

“Mafiaaaaaaa!!,” Chubb wrote. With two Buffalo emojis to add some extra flair to his post.

Chubb also took to Instagram to share perhaps the biggest question facing his time with the Buffalo Bills: what jersey number is he going to wear? Chubb made a post wearing a No. 9 Bills jersey, putting to rest any questions about what his number is going to be with the new club.

Chubb has plenty of gas still left in the tank

The talented pass rusher signed a deal worth $52.5 million with $29 million in guaranteed money to join the Bills and will add a solid piece to the defensive line. He still has plenty of gas left in the tank, as was evident with his eight and a half sacks and 48 pressures in 2025.

Buffalo gets an elite pass rusher who joined the league in the same draft class as quarterback Josh Allen. Chubb spent time with the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins and now will join the Bills for the next three seasons. New defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard has to be thrilled.

For a defense that has been searching for more consistent pressure off the edge, that’s exactly what Chubb gives Buffalo if he can stay healthy. The Bills may have landed one of the most impactful defensive additions of the entire free agency period. Though some fans might think that the Bills could have spent the money elsewhere to get a handful of players instead of just one.

Despite some grumblings from some of the Bills Mafia, this is a big win for the organization.
