Edge defender Bradly Chubb is officially a member of the Buffalo Bills. In his first interview with Buffalo media, he had quite a bit to say about quarterback Josh Allen and the team as a whole. Bills Mafia is going to be more than a little fired up about his choice of words. With Buffalo looking to try and get over the hump, Chubb was discussing why he came to Buffalo.

“That’s the reason I came here. Just to be a part of something that can be special.”

Chubb signed a three-year contract with the Bills, an early splash in free agency for the team. Buffalo gets a veteran pass rusher who had eight and a half sacks in 2025 with plenty of gas left in the tank.

Bradley Chubb has nothing but praise for quarterback Josh Allen

Chubb was asked quickly about quarterback Josh Allen and what it’s like to play on a team with such a superstar in the league. The talented pass rusher didn’t hold back with his response.

“[Number] 17 he’s been doing it since 2018. He is one of the best, if not the best, quarterbacks in the league, and whenever you have a guy like that, manning the ship, I feel like everybody believes they can win.”

Allen is a true competitor, often throwing on his Superman cape and pulling off at least one of his “oh my gosh, are you kidding me? Josh Allen is unreal” moments. Chubb has taken notice.

“I feel like when you have a guy like that, everybody buys in, everybody knows no matter what he’s going through, he’s going to give it his all and put it on the line for his team, and you can win like that,” Chubb said. “He’s worthy of all the talk. He does the right things, he makes the plays, he takes the hits, he gives the hits. I’m excited to be on his side.”

A perfect fit for Chubb and Jim Leonhard

In his own words, it was a match made in heaven for the two sides to agree to a deal. Oh, and anyone wondering about how he’ll fit into defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard’s new scheme, don’t worry.

“So it’s actually funny how life works,” Chubb added. “When I first got to Denver, when I got drafted there, Vance Joseph was the head coach. He’s been the DC in Denver these past two years, and coach Leonhard has come from that system. It’s kind of a match made in heaven, it’s kind of what I came into the league doing, and I’ve had success doing my first year. I’m excited to get back into the system.”

Leonhard’s new approach boils down to a few key things, but in one word, it would be aggression.

“I know he’s going to have his tweaks and do different things to it, but what he preached to me is that it’s going to be the same,” Chubb said. “Getting after the quarterback, making sure we’re covered in the backend, making sure we’re up front wreaking havoc, and playing good team defense.”

Things need to change, and Chubb fully understands that

The Bills had another season that ended with defensive woes in the biggest of moments. Yes, Allen was also largely responsible for the loss, but the defense also allowed 30 points yet again. Chubb wants to start a new chapter, identifying the major issue with past defenses under Sean McDermott.

“I feel like the talk was in the past; it was, offense go out there and put how many points, defense don’t lose the game,” Chubb mentioned. “Now we’re trying to be aggressive on defense and set the tone.”

With Allen leading the offense and a revamped defensive scheme taking shape under Leonhard, the expectation in Buffalo couldn’t be higher.

Chubb understands exactly what he just signed up for, and if his words turn into production on the biggest of stages, he could be a major piece in helping Buffalo finally chase down that elusive Super Bowl.
