The Buffalo Bills have the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which means a lot will transpire before the team gets a chance to make their selection.

That makes it incredibly difficult to predict who the Bills might take in the draft. One off-the-wall pick can change the way the entire round unfolds.

Despite that being the situation, there's one player that seems destined to land in Buffalo.

Georgia Bulldogs cornerback Kamari Lassiter is being projected in numerous mock drafts as a late round pick. The Bills have more pressing needs than at cornerback (unless Rasul Douglas isn't extended — then Buffalo would have a need), but Lassiter is a player that would fit in well in Buffalo thanks to his connection to the franchise's new cornerbacks coach.

Jahmile Addae served as Georgia's defensive backs coach in 2021 when Lassiter was a freshman (he played in all 15 games). Addae was hired earlier this offseason to serve as Buffalo's new cornerbacks coach.

Lassiter said on Thursday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis that he thinks Addae is a great coach and that it would be "pretty awesome" to play for him in Buffalo.

In the late first round, it always seems best to go with a best player available approach instead of drafting for need (that's when teams tend to miss on picks). If Lassiter is the best player available when the Bills pick, then it makes sense to take him — regardless of the depth chart.

Stockpiling talent at cornerback is never a bad strategy in the NFL.
