While the attention is focused on this weekend's Wild Card clash with the Denver Broncos at Highmark Stadium, next year's opponents have been set. Based on the outcomes of this season, Buffalo will enter the 2025 season with what, on paper, looks like a favorable slate of games.
Drawing the NFC South is helpful. On the road, the Bills will get the Falcons and the Panthers. Buffalo will also play all four teams in the AFC North, two at home and two away. If you have to play the AFC North, getting the Ravens and the Bengals at home is probably the best way to slice it. Their two road AFC North games will be at Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
Based on the 2024 NFL season, Buffalo will head into next year with only the 23rd toughest strength of schedule. While strength of schedule isn't perfect — teams obviously change from year to year — it's a decent way to get an early feel for opponents.
Buffalo is obviously still solely focused on this season's playoff run, but for fans keeping at least half an eye on how next year will look, including what home games should be circled on the calendar, it's an exciting way to look ahead. Buffalo vs Baltimore at Highmark Stadium has late season prime time written all over it.
The AFC East, as a whole, has a pretty easy go of it on paper. Of the four teams in the division, the Miami Dolphins have the hardest slate of opponents on paper.
Buffalo will enter the 2025 season with five straight AFC East Championships in hand, looking to make it six.
