The Buffalo Bills have an offseason ahead of them that will feature a lot of changes.
With the second worst cap situation in the NFL, only behind the New Orleans Saints, Buffalo will need to move around a lot of money in order to bring in more talent.
While it seems grim, there are moves the Bills can make that can get them on track.
Three important moves the Bills need to make this offseason
Buffalo can keep their window open
While the Bills will have several spots on the defensive side of the ball to address, they also need to focus on getting more weapons for Josh Allen. One weapon they could, and should, look into acquiring is San Francisco 49ers star receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Aiyuk said he can see himself with the 49ers going forward "if that's the best move" when it came to questions about his future with San Francisco while cleaning out his locker after the team's loss in the Super Bowl. He also posted "Don't forget what got you there" after the loss.
Aiyuk would immediately become a go-to target in the Bills' offense, if not the go-to target. He led the 49ers in catches (75), yards (1,342), and touchdowns (7), and would give the Bills a much needed kick in talent.
While Stefon Diggs had 107 receptions and over 1,100 yards, he struggled after a very hot start to the season, and it was evident that he may have lost a step when it comes to being an unquestioned No. 1 receiver. Adding Aiyuk would open up the Bills pass game, and would take the load off of Diggs and simultaneously open up looks for the likes of Dalton Kincaid and Khalil Shakir.
If the Bills can create the cap space, which they absolutely can, they should trade their first-round pick for Aiyuk. They are likely going to spend the pick on a receiver- they may as well get one that has proven to be very good, similar to what they did when they acquired Diggs.
