The defensive line is getting a ton of attention amongst Bills fans, and it makes plenty of sense as to why. I'm partially culpable. I've been talking about the need for defensive tackles and edge rushers alike since the second the Chiefs beat the Bills in the AFC Championship Game.

There are other positions of need on the roster, with the defensive secondary taking a pretty big priority. Safety doesn't jump out as an immediate need, but depending on what happens with Damar Hamlin, Buffalo could be in the market. If they are, South Carolina's Nick Emmanwori jumps off the film, and would provide some serious reenforcement on the back end.

Emmanwori is a physical and rangy safety, which sounds exactly like a Sean McDermott-style defender to me. He covers massive amounts of ground, flying to the ball, and has insane size for his position at 6'3" 227 lbs (listed). No matter how he weighs in at the Scouting Combine, his physical makeup shows up on the film.

Emmanwori has terrific ball skills as well, recording four safeties and two passes defensed in the 2024 season. It's a lofty comparison, but he's the type of do-everything safety as Baltimore's Kyle Hamilton. Emmanwori is sticky in coverage, can play the ball, and has been clocked running over 22 miles per hour. He's an absolutely dynamic athlete.

With his athleticism, he's exactly the type of player that will have an opportunity to pop at the Combine. Depending on how the board falls, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's high on the list of targets for Brandon Beane
