Buffalo is hosting a defensive tackle for a pre-draft visit that could be a huge indicator of what the Bills are looking for

The Bills need mass on the interior of the defensive line that's capable of blowing up the plans of opposing offensive lines. It's well known. At some point in the 2025 NFL Draft, it's all but a guarantee that they will address that need, whether it's in the first round or later.

Brandon Beane and company have elected to bring in a player that fits most of their needs and is expected to go right around pick 30 by many. Ohio State's Tyleik Williams, who is quick on his feet, plenty disruptive, and stands around 330 lbs, is coming in for a visit.

Tyleik might not have the highest upside as a pass rusher such as other prospects Derrick Harmon out of Oregon or Kenneth Grant from Michigan, but he is an elite run stopper. The Bills defense needs to be able to slow down opposing rushing attacks, especially dealing with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC playoff hunt.

There have been times recently where the interior of the defense line has been blown off the ball, making it difficult to free up the linebackers and to get into the backfield to disrupt plays. Williams is the opposite of that. In the Rose Bowl against Oregon, Williams looked like a one-man wrecking crew.

Here's what Brandon Little, who covers Ohio State for A to Z, had to say about Williams:

Tyleik Williams was a consistent contributor for the Buckeyes all four seasons that he was in Columbus. Williams burst onto the scene with five sacks as a freshman and he remained a solid pass rusher and run stopper through four college years. Williams at times struggles with pad level and he can end up on the ground at times as a result. The Ohio State standout needs to add additional pass rush moves to his arsenal, as he often just relies on a bull rush. Williams is one of the strongest players in the draft and he can fit multiple schemes. A smart football player who storms to the ball off the snap, he’s always around the football.

If Beane wants a disruptor on the interior that will give them a clear boost in run defense, then Williams might be exactly the right fit for what the Buffalo Bills are looking to do in the 2025 NFL Draft.
