We all know what Damar Hamlin went through on the field. The story will always be with him, and it's something that he embraces.

Now, Hamlin is building a resume that will have him known as a football player, not just for his on-field incident. Hamlin logged his first career interception in the first half of Monday Night Football against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This is everything. It was on a Monday Night Football matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals when Hamlin suffered his incident. Hamlin adds to the poetry of his comeback on a Monday Night Football in getting his first career interception.

The safety position was a huge conversation entering training camp with the Bills moving on from Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde, with Hamlin firmly in a battle with veteran addition Mike Edwards, Taylor Rapp, rookie Cole Bishop, and Cam Lewis.

Hamlin earned his spot, not only on the 53-man roster, but as an opening day starter opposite Rapp. He has continued to grow as a player and has played strong football for the Bills thus far in 2024. Getting his first career interception is just a cherry on top.

When asked what it was like to see Hamlin get his first career interception, Allen lit up with a smile.

"That was awesome. Was awesome. We needed it big time for him. Top moment for our team there," Allen said.

"What a night for Damar, right? At home on Monday Night Football, getting his first interception of his NFL career, just the journey he's been on and how he's persevered," head coach Sean McDermott said after the game. "

Hamlin appeared emotional on the field speaking with ESPN.

"There's no words for it. Man, I'm still processing it as I go," Hamlin said. "But you know, I was able to take it one day at a time, and you know, just my teammates, my coaches, the whole entire Bill's organization, was always there for me and supporting me just like they are now. So you know, I'm just truly thankful. Thankful, thankful, thankful that I'm a Buffalo Bill."

That's what it's all about.
