In maybe the most shocking development of the entire NFL Honors show, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin did not win Comeback Player of the Year.
The award instead went to Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, who was signed off the street by the Browns in the second half of the season and helped lead Cleveland to the playoffs.
Hamlin, of course, came back from a horrifying incident that occurred last season in which he suffered cardiac arrest on the field and had to have life-saving procedures performed on him during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hamlin went on to make a full recovery and made the Bills' final 53-man roster, making him feel like a shoe-in to win the award this season after coming back to play after such a gruesome incident.
Hamlin did have the most first place votes with 21, eight more than Flacco's 13, but Flacco's 26 second place votes ultimately gave him enough points to surpass Hamlin.
This certainly felt like an award Hamlin should have won, and was cheated out of because of a flawed system of voting.
