As its widely known, the Bills have clinched the No. 2 seed, meaning they enter Week 18 with nothing to play for. It remains to be seen exactly what plan head coach Sean McDermott takes with this team in terms of resting players in their final meeting.

Even with the potential for Buffalo to rest a large number of starters, the sportsbooks are still apparently giving the nod to Buffalo to beat New England in Week 18. Not only does Buffalo have nothing to play for, but the Patriots have everything to lose by winning.

It's a weird situation where the Bills have nothing to play for, and the Patriots, who currently hold the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, have nothing to fight for.

The game has every opportunity to be a gross one. The Patriots are one of four teams that currently hold a 3-13 record heading into the final week of the season. All you need to know about how much the draft order can swing can be shown by what happened with the New York Giants, who randomly played their best game against the Colts in Week 17, knocking them out of the playoffs and dropping their draft pick positioning from first overall to fourth.

These scenarios are always a wild card. Front offices tank, but players don't. The players on the field are fighting for their pride and their careers, and potentially for roster spots on the Patriots, or elsewhere, next season. The sportsbooks apparently are buying the tank, and think that Buffalo will walk away with the victory, even with starters on the bench.
