Today marked the first practice of Week 1 for the Buffalo Bills, which feels like the official start of the 2024 regular season. They're back.
In doing so, the Bills are getting into their regular season workflow, which includes practicing Wednesday-Friday for Sunday games. A key element of these practices is the injury report, and the first one of the year provides some clarity on how the team is looking heading into their matchup with the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Orchard Park.
This injury report is huge news. Not even listed on the report are wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling and safety Mike Edwards, and other key players are all trending towards playing. Curtis Samuel, who figures to be a huge part of the offensive gameplan, and Cole Bishop, who will provide insurance to what was a banged up safety position group throughout camp, were both full participants.
Rookie defensive end Javon Solomon was a "Did Not Participate" with an oblique injury, and figuring to serve as a rotational pass rusher, that will be one worth monitoring. If he's unable to go, seeing DE Kameron Cline get activated from the practice squad on Saturday would not surprise me.
All-in-all, though, this injury report comes as a huge relief to Bills fans that watched this team continuously deal with injuries throughout camp and the preseason. We'll keep an eye on how it progresses throughout the week.
