Buffalo Bills running back James Cook had a tremendous season in 2023. He was fourth in the NFL in rushing yards, as well as yards from scrimmage.
Despite that, though, Cook wasn't ranked as a top five, top 10, top 15, or even top 20 running back in the NFL by PFF.
Cook was left out of the top 20 all together, and didn't make the list until spot No. 24.
"James Cook excelled in his second NFL season, finally giving the Buffalo Bills a credible rushing attack," PFF analyst Thomas Valentine wrote. "Cook finished fourth in total rushing yards in 2023, rushing for 1,122 yards at a 4.7 yards-per-carry clip and scoring twice while earning a 71.8 grade."
"His yards after contact per attempt number was lower than his rookie season, but Cook forced more missed tackles, had more explosive runs and racked up more catches and receiving yards."
So while PFF gave Cook nothing but compliments in the quick summary of his ranking, putting him at No. 24 is incredibly wild to say the least.
I’m so sick of hearing about Josh Allen’s turnovers
It is the laziest argument in sports
