The Buffalo Bills went into Detroit and beat the top seed in the NFC, 48-42. For the second consecutive week, Buffalo was involved in the highest scoring game of the season across the league, with quarterback Josh Allen stating his MVP case yet again with a 362 passing yard, two touchdown performance with 68 rushing yards and two scores on the ground as well.
After the game ended, it was reported that Allen was heading back to the X-ray room. Meeting with the media, Allen put concerns to bed, but it will still be worth monitoring.
"Yeah, it was just a funky feeling. But again, I was able to throw, and I don't feel any pain right now. [It was] just precaution more than anything," Allen said after the game when asked about the X-ray.
The good news is that the imaging was precautionary. As we know, Allen is one of the toughest players in the league. He didn't miss any time in his outstanding performance, and will now turn his eyes to next week's home game against the Patriots.
Buffalo is now 11-3 and has three games to play. For Allen and the Bills, it's going to be an uphill battle for them to chase down the Kansas City Chiefs for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, but that journey might be helped by the fact that Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes is apparently listed as week-to-week with an ankle injury that he suffered late in the fourth quarter against the Cleveland Browns.
Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have now beat the No. 1 seed in both the AFC and the NFC, and have the ability on any given day to hang with the toughest opponents in the league. But as last week's game against the Rams showed, anything can happen. It will be a fascinating playoffs run for Allen and company.
