The Buffalo Bills get their first division test early, and it's a tough one. With only one regular season game under their belts, Buffalo travels to Miami for Thursday Night Football.

We know Buffalo has to play in Miami at least once, and if it's going to be early in the season, I'm glad it's a night game where heat won't be as big of a factor.

In this matchup, Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa square off for the eighth time, so how have the quarterbacks faired in their previous seven matchups?

To put it bluntly, Allen blows Tagovailoa out of the water across the board.

Josh Allen vs Tua Tagovailoa head-to-head stats

Obviously we know that quarterbacks don't square off against each other on the field, but there's an element of quarterbacks going against each other that can't be understated. When Allen and Tagovailoa meet, Allen puts on a show.

Josh Allen head-to-head stats against Tua Tagovailoa

  • 6-1 record
  • 68.4% completion percentage
  • 290.7 passing yards per game
  • 19 passing touchdowns
  • 4 interceptions
  • 43 rushing yards per game
  • 2 rushing touchdowns

Tua Tagovailoa head-to-head stats against Josh Allen

  • 1-6 record
  • 61.1% completion percentage
  • 207.7 passing yards per games
  • 6 passing touchdowns
  • 7 interceptions
  • 8.4 rushing yards per game
  • 1 rushing touchdown

Just looking at last year alone for the most recent numbers, Allen was on an MVP level in their two meetings. In their Week 4 matchup, Allen threw for 320 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions, while adding 17 rushing yards and a rushing score as well. In Week 17, Allen threw for 359 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, with 67 yards on the ground. That's a two game total of 679 passing yards, 84 rushing yards, seven total touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Just crazy, crazy big numbers. Buffalo won both games.

Tagovailoa did not deliver the same level of performances, throwing for a combined 454 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.

In these meetings, it's been advantage Allen.

With that said, the offense looks very different for Buffalo this time around than it has in those previous seven meetings. Stefon Diggs was with the team in each of those games.

What we saw from the Buffalo offense in Week 1, though, is a game plan centered on the "everybody eats" mentality that offensive coordinator Joe Brady has been saying since mini camp. Nine different players for the Bills caught a pass from Allen, with the quarterback effectively taking what the defense gave him. It took a little bit of time for the offense to get going, but once they started to roll, they didn't stop.

Allen is capable of winning every game he's in, as he'll look to continue the trend of beating up on Miami on Thursday Night Football.
