Josh Allen means the world to Bills Mafia, and Allen finally getting a well-deserved MVP trophy feels like validation for the level of special talent that he is. It bucked the trends, and it meant the world to the kids at Oishei Children's Hospital where he has spent so much time.

It also meant a ton to the players that go to battle for him day in and day out, and some of the franchise legends that now look at the new team leader as a member of their fraternity.

Allen's left tackle Dion Dawkins was on stage to present the award, and was one of the first to be able to express his congratulations to the franchise icon.

In a year where Allen was voted as the most overrated player in the NFL back in the summer by his peers, in a season where the Bills traded away their No. 1 wide receiver in Stefon Diggs, and in a season where the Bills moved on from multiple team leaders, Allen rose to the occasion and had his best season in the NFL. He simply was the Bills offense this year.

Yes, James Cook emerged and had a special season, but when defenses are preparing to go up against the Bills, the plan is always "stop Josh Allen." He didn't have a single teammate be named to the AP first or second-team All Pro, and yet he had 40 total touchdowns and threw a career-low only six interceptions. He put his team on his back, beat the No. 1 seed in each conference, and had his team in the AFC Championship Game when many analysts told bettors to hammer the "under" on the Bills win total line.

Lamar Jackson had a great season, but so did Allen. He's the league MVP, proving to have taken a step forward as the Bills will look to retool for another run at a championship next season.
