The Bills offense is about as explosive as it gets this season. With Josh Allen at the helm, their unit averaged the second-most points per game throughout the regular season, and the most in the AFC. Sunday's Wild Card victory over the Denver Broncos continued to show that Allen and the offense have a Super Bowl-caliber squad, blending their ability to run the ball, control the clock, and create big plays. They can do it all.

One of the biggest plays of the game was Josh Allen's hero ball that saw him connect with running back Ty Johnson for a 25-yard touchdown in the back of the end zone on 4th and 1. It was an absurd play. After the game, Allen was asked about the play, and he heaped massive praise on Johnson.

"I've been saying that all year long — Ty Johnson is the best third down back in football," Allen said. "The things that he's able to do for us, the way we communicate, him in the pass game, blocking and running the ball, he does it all. I'm so happy for him. So proud of him. He made a heck of a play. It was fourth down, there was no point in holding it, taking a sack there. They played man, and I just gave him a chance."

He has been saying it all year long, and yet it seems like few people are talking about how crucial Johnson has been to this team.

James Cook gets all the love, and rightly so — he's having a monster of a breakout season. On Sunday, he put up another 120 rushing yards and a score. He's one of the key engines to this offense.

But Johnson, who serves as a backup to Cook, has developed as the season has gone along into a crucial weapon, especially in the passing attack.

He finished the Wild Card outing with nine carries for 44 yards (4.9 yards per carry), and caught two passes, including his big touchdown. He's been doing it all season. To keep Cook fresh, the Bills have worked rookie Ray Davis and Johnson onto the field, counting on both of them to keep the offense moving. Johnson had 41 carries for 213 yards and a touchdown in the regular season, while catching 18 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

He's the unsung hero of this offense, and Allen has all the trust in the world in his weapon. His ability in the passing game in particular is crucial to what the Bills do in their attack. As the Bills continue to work through the playoffs, Johnson will undeniably make his presence felt.
