The last time the Bills met the Ravens, they got ran out of the building in their worst loss of the season. They had no answers for Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, and the offense was completely disjointed. In that outing, Allen completed only 16/29 passes for 180 yards. It was the only game of the regular season (excluding Allen's one snap played in Week 18) where Allen failed to account for a single touchdown.

In preparing for the highly-anticipated rematch on Sunday night, Allen was asked to reflect on their last game and what stands out to him.

"I feel like we've grown quite a bit since that game," Allen said. "Obviously we learned a lot from those moments, going back and watching, it obviously wasn't our best effort. Felt like we didn't play our best football. But again, they've got a really good team. They're playing this week for a reason. Their defense, the last, really, eight to ten weeks has been superb. Their offenses, is fantastic as well. They've got a lot of studs over there, led by Lamar, obviously, and it's a tough team to play regardless."

Allen obviously heaped plenty of much-deserved credit to Lamar Jackson and the rest of the Ravens, and he's absolutely right about their defense, which has come on strong over the second half of the season. But his point about how the team has grown is a crucial point.

Early in the season, this offense was still finding its groove. They weren't playing nearly with the same rhythm and confidence that they are now. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady has come a long way in his play calling since then as well, and is consistently dialing up a variety of looks to put Allen and the rest of the offense in the best position possible.

Running back James Cook has become a focal point of this offense as the season has gone as well. Cook didn't have his first 100+ rushing yard game until Week 7, and finished with 100+ rushing yards in four of the team's last six games (excluding Week 18). The team is more confident, has a better sense of their identity, and is playing with much more rhythm than they were in their last outing. Buffalo should be able to give Baltimore much more of a fight this time, with their home crowd set to play a role as well.
