KJ Hamler was one of the best receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft coming out of Penn State. He was taken in the second round by the Denver Broncos, and had a promising rookie season, catching 30 passes and three touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Hamler suffered an ACL injury in 2021 that kept him out of 13 games, and he only appeared in seven games in 2022 due to a list of injuries. In March of 2023, he tore his pectoral muscle while training. He was released by the Broncos after being diagnosed with a heart condition called Pericarditis. He then spent last season on the Indianapolis Colts' practice squad.

Now in Buffalo, Hamler is looking forward to making the most of his new opportunity.

"You know the fact that I'm still here. Going into year 5 is a blessing because I could've been done just off the heart stuff," Hamler told Briana Aldridge of WKBW in Buffalo. "I want to be one of the greats. I know four years have passed, but it's not how you start, it's how you finish."

Hamler is looking to make the Bills' roster as one of the several new receivers in Buffalo in 2024.
