Multiple Bills players hit with news they didn’t want to hear ahead of Week 7

Two Buffalo Bills players came out of Week 6 a little lighter in their bank accounts. Left tackle Dion Dawkins was fined $11,225 for unsportsmanlike conduct, and cornerback Taron Johnson was fined $11,817 for unnecessary roughness (low block).
For Johnson, he was flagged for a low block by going low against Jets' tight end Jeremy Ruckert.
For Dawkins, his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty took place between the third and the fourth quarter. He was flagged for swatting away a water bottle from a staff member of the Jets.
"It was a little weird, like they talking out of their mouth, and one of their trainers walked by with the water. I felt like he was trying to be funny. He had the water bottle in my face," Dawkins said about the situation after the game. "He could have been giving it to his guys, but he had the water too close to my face, almost like he was trying to and be funny. So I grabbed the water and the official threw the flag. So, weird people being weird."
Head Coach Sean McDermott was not a fan of the behavior.
"You do the best you can at the end of the day," McDermott said about managing emotions for Dawkins and the rest of the team. "Then he's got to take that and make sure he's thinking of the team first. And those pre-snap or post-whistle penalties, those are non-negotiable. We don't tolerate that stuff. So we've got to do a better job in that category, for sure."
The league didn't like it either. Going into a fresh week, where the Bills will now be preparing for Titans' quarterback Mason Rudolph, Dawkins will almost assuredly be asked to rein it in a bit.
