Now that we're over the initial shock and awe factor of the Buffalo Bills putting up a 47-10 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, there's an underrated storyline from Monday Night Football that deserves our attention.
When the actives/inactives were announced 90 minutes before the start of the game, the Bills decided to go with four safeties – Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin, Cam Lewis, and Cole Bishop. Veteran Mike Edwards was left off as a healthy scratch.

Bishop appears to now firmly be above Edwards on the depth chart, which is notable. The safety position group was one that drew plenty of conversations in the offseason after the Bills elected to move on from Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
Bishop, a second round draft pick out of University of Utah, is a versatile safety capable of playing down in the box or at the more traditional free safety position. His athleticism and ability to identify and trigger on what's happening makes him an asset to this defense.
That ratio is pretty much the same as what we saw the week before. Through two appearances, Bishop has played 11 snaps at free safety, six in the box, and three in the slot.
Bishop appears to be earning trust from the defensive staff as someone that is capable of filling in at multiple positions on the defense. Notably, it seems like Edwards now finds himself on the outside looking in. This unit is now fully healthy, and this is the way that the coaching staff prefers to utilize the group.
As long as they're playing well, which they absolutely are right now, there's no reason to change it.
