The Buffalo Bills have officially made what felt inevitable a reality, with tight end Dalton Kincaid being ruled out for this Sunday's meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. It's a big blow to the offense, but the Bills do have the benefit of having a valuable, veteran leader at the position that has been there before, especially against the Chiefs.

Dawson Knox, who has been around for plenty of these recent battles with the Chiefs, fully has the trust of his head coach.

"It's just great to have him. It really is such an important piece for us, a leader for us as well, and just fun to really watch him grow," head coach Sean McDermott said. "And I think he made the comment to me last week, just about a lot of young guys coming up to him, saying, 'hey, that was a great game, great catch.' And he's like, 'I've been doing this for a while,' you know, so I just love that kind of veteran piece that he brings to our to our team, "

Kincaid isn't the only piece of the offense that's going to be missing this weekend. With rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman already rules out and Amari Cooper trying to play through a wrist injury, the pass catching options for Josh Allen are thin against a great defense.

Last week, wide receiver Curtis Samuel got into the game plan and made his biggest mark as a member of the Bills so far with eight targets, but he was only able to secure four of them for 35 yards. Samuel and leading receiver Khalil Shakir will be relied upon heavily in the wide receiver room, but Knox will likely see his number called quite a bit over the middle of the field, and potentially in the red zone.

One of Knox's best games of his career was on October 10, 2021. It was a home game against the Chiefs that saw Knox reel in three catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. It was the only time in his career that Knox has eclipsed the 100 yard mark.

Bills Mafia would love to see a vintage Knox performance against the Chiefs. if Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo puts his focus on Shakir, Knox could be a big benefactor, and a key to defeating the Chiefs.
