The Bills and their fans will be scoreboard watching to see how Week 18 unfolds, which will determine who they'll host on Wild Card Weekend, but before that, they'll have an opportunity to rest some starters and get healthy before the playoffs start.
Head coach Sean McDermott cleared some things up about the availability and playing time of some players in their Week 18 matchup, including quarterback Josh Allen.
"What we're going to do is you'll see some starters out there playing, and you'll see some other players who we want to take a good look at. So it'll be a blend of both," McDermott said.
"One of the things that we know is very, very important to [Allen] is his consecutive starts streak, if you will, and it's important to him for a great reason," McDermott said. "He wants to be out there with his teammates, and so he will be out there for a very, very short-lived amount of time and then he'll be off rather quickly there.""
The reason Allen is going to see the field at all? His consecutive starts streak, which currently sits at 114 games. His mark is twice as long as second on the list, which is Jared Goff at 53 games.
Allen is a pillar of durability, playing through a broken hand this season. It matters to him to be available and leading from the front. Allen will extend his streak to 115 games with a short cameo on Sunday before swapping his helmet for a hat on the sidelines as the Bills turn their eyes to the playoffs.
