The Bills have quite the laundry list of players that will hit free agency this offseason, including several key contributors on the defensive side of the ball.
Specifically, Buffalo has multiple starters on the defensive line that will hit the open market, including A.J. Epenesa and Daquan Jones. However, the Bills can plug one of those holes in the middle with one of the best players from the Senior Bowl.
Texas defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat made the most of his time in Mobile, dominating the opposition in position drills and demonstrating his unique power.
While the Bills will also need to upgrade their pass rushers, having an interior duo of Ed Oliver and Sweat would open up opportunities for whomever is coming off the edge. He is a great pass rusher in his own right, as well, earning a pass rush grade of 85.3 from PFF in 2023, and a grade of 88.7 in pass rushes against true pass sets.
Buffalo's rush defense would also get a needed bump in production, as they finished 24th in the league in EPA per rush.
At 6-foot-4, 362 pounds, Sweat is a physical specimen that could change the aspect of the Bills' defense. He is climbing draft boards after his week at the Senior Bowl, so Buffalo may have to either take him late in the first round or trade up in the second to get him, but he'd be worth the investment.
