The Buffalo Bills underwent a lot of cosmetic changes this offseason, moving on from several veteran players on both sides of the ball.

One of those players was safety Jordan Poyer, who went on to sign a one-year deal with the division-rival Miami Dolphins. His long-time running mate on the back end, Micah Hyde, is a free agent and has said he will either play for the Bills or retire.

That leaves Taylor Rapp, who returned to the Bills on a three-year deal worth $10.625 million, and he will now be the veteran leader at his position for Buffalo.

Rapp spoke with Briana Aldridge of WKBW in Buffalo about his new role with the team, and what he learned from a season ago.

"The year that I went through last year," Rapp said. "It looked like my role was different compared to my first four years in the league,"

Rapp gave a lot of credit to Poyer and Hyde, saying they were "the two best teammates I've had throughout my whole career."

Rapp also says he's now ready to embrace the role as a leader on the Bills' defense.

"I think that played a huge part of growing up because I was always playing with older guys, always playing up, older teams and stuff," Rapp said. "I think that played a huge part in my development… I've got to embrace that role."
